Cervical Spondylosis
What is Cervical Spondylosis
Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative condition of the cervical spine (neck) caused by wear and tear of the spinal discs, bones, and joints. It commonly occurs with aging and can lead to stiffness, pain, and restricted movement in the neck. In some cases, it may also cause nerve compression, leading to pain that radiates to the shoulders, arms, and hands.
Symptoms
- Neck pain and stiffness, especially in the morning or after sitting for long periods.
- Headaches, often starting at the base of the skull.
- Limited neck movement, with difficulty turning the head.
- Pain radiating to the shoulders, arms, or hands due to nerve compression.
- Tingling or numbness in the arms and fingers.
- Weakness in the arms or legs, in severe cases.
- Loss of balance and coordination in advanced stages.
