Spondylolisthesis
Spondylosis is a condition where one of the vertebrae in the spine slips forward over the vertebra below it. This misalignment can cause pain, nerve compression, and reduced mobility. It commonly affects the lower back (lumbar spine) but can also occur in the neck (cervical spine). Causes include aging, arthritis, injury, repetitive stress, or congenital spine defects.
Symptoms
- Lower back pain that worsens with movement or prolonged standing.
- Leg pain or numbness due to nerve compression (sciatica).
- Muscle weakness in the lower back, buttocks, or legs.
- Tingling or burning sensations in the legs.
- Difficulty walking or standing for long periods due to instability.
- Tight hamstrings and lower back stiffness.
- Loss of bladder or bowel control in severe cases (medical emergency).
